FLASH!dance

The era of musical dryness has finally been quenched. I finally took steps in the right direction of warrantying my iPod and should be able to get the latest video iPod. What I'm gonna use a little 2x2 video screen to watch, I don't know, but at least i have more than i need or can use and that's what really counts. Stupid Apple.
Musical reviewsive:
thanks to ryber for telling me about Deep Dish. They're a good listen, especially "Flashdance." It rocks some sweet electro-guitar and sexxy vocals that make me wanna grind it, which is quite unusuall for a whitey like myself. I spent twenty minutes today dancing around my kitchen to it while i made lunch. I damn well sure am going to see them live. In my saturday night slump after punching it at work, i did some myspacing and was excited to find the KOC because, I want to be, Erlend O.y.e.

Hard effort training stuff is hurts. Maybe that's why it's called hard effort and not like, nice! effort or glad! effort... I wonder if any of this is actually making me any faster.

So nice to have warm weather in early March; after so much cold and frost-freeze from long wintry rides, I've really come to appreciate warmth. Another beautiful thing is 5 am rides, like my morning ride. It was just perfect, leave the driveway right before the sun starts glowing and being out while the sun comes up is such an enlightening feeling. All but the cars. When you are driving you really never think about air pollution or anything like that because you are inside of your car all comfortable and sealed, but when you're in the opposite perspective and not resting easily inside your megaSUV you realize how bad a few single cars actually smell/taste. I don't mean to outwardly sound like the hippie tree-hugger that i may really be, but unless you live in iceland, air is bad and there's nothing that is going fix it. I always try to do my part though; I pull out/cut off as many cars in town as I can while I'm on my bicycle, and know it's been a good day when a few fingers have been flipped or bottles thrown.
Picked up a hopefully exciting new novel today for a school read, Kafka on the Shore Haruki Murakami. Am I a nerdo now? Hope not, I like asian writers; they're metaphysically boggling and who could be a cooler author than Murakami? he listens to Radiohead and drinks Smirnof while writing.

Who wants to start racing, especially on the road? Well me. Boo for road racing on my 23 pound piece of junk, definitely not a self esteem booster to go up against a bunch of nubes with feathery little cycles while im trying to make my stone age granite wheels go in circles. Anything for training, but f* being tired all of the time.

T doesnt listen to the radio for one reason, he's not mainstream. But under extenuating circumstances he is sometimes forced to turn the dial like his great grandfather might have done as he sat in his wooden chair and lit his corn-cob pipe. Well, since the death of my closest friend i, T has been lost for a source of rhythm. He and Mr. Pod had many a memorable time chilling or riding together, hell, he even got him through some of the longest rides and races that his legs know. Consequently, much more radio has been playing while crusing in RED as of late. I usually keep it down in the public radio channels, but today i decided to get my hip hoppin' and listen to some HOTT 92. im not sure now what to do with all tha junk inside my trunk
Need to get the iPod warrantied
Also made one of the smarter choices that i have all year and picked up a set of booties. No more frost-bitten toes after cold rides
Tonight while working at the carb kitchen i was graced with the acquaintence of two trucker manz. They fooled me, i would have thought they would have been sailors by the amount of adverbs and adjectives they so casually belted out in the middle of the restaurant. They were really something else, very friendly though; wanted to talk lots and everything... College: psu, main (you must be quite the brain then!); Sports: cycling (woah); Alcohol: eeh..; Girls:whaaa? stopping here, you can imagine what sicko truckers might say...
I've met tons of interesting people while working there, it's kinda cool. Although, some people i would rather not have met, like this one creepy guy who pays way too much attention to whatever im doing.

Senioritis? Seniorslikeus,

Being a senior is a tough job. With all the hassle of getting into school, applying for scholarships and financial aid and not to mention keeping grades at a premium level of achievement and remaining a sparkling figure of social stature, one becomes quite overwhelmed and worn out by the hustle and drone of the daily grind. While not always so pitiless, some weeks take a harder toll than do others and one must take one of the nice senior liberties to liberate his soul from the bellows of the public education system. I'm pretty much just full of hot air, but not as much as I discovered today that the employees at Starbucks do. Yep, today Johny-love and I made a senior skip day, and what a beautifully educating one it was. The new Target is open in Carlisle. Target is the new Wal-Mart, no, Wal Mart for the middle class. No, seriously though, if you are going to contribute to submissive big corporation consumption you better damn well go to Tar-ghay. And if you have nothing else to do with your sorry friends on saturday night, Target is the place to be. Anywho, Target was cool, and new. Our adventure also turned out to include a visit at the Cornerstone coffeeshop. I was ordering caffeination and Jon managed to subject himself to a the conversings of a cracked out contaminant of the holy spirit. This dude was the most whacked out crackster I've ever seen. Beannie hat, oldie person bifocals with flip-down uv's, collared button down, sweatpants and brown shoes, shaking all over, running into stools and preacing to innocent laptop concentrated junkies. Say I don't get out much, but, maybe I don't. Also picked up my new bi-cycle, and it's beautiful.

All in all, days off of school are better than days in, but if every day was an off day nothing would get done. My lovely Miss I-get-out-two-periods-early-every-day-and-everything's-soo haard(phew) thinks that everyone should just take a week off and all would be better. What about the people who make sure you have water? And power? Or how about the people at Panera who make your sandwich or crispani? Or charge you ridiculous amounts of money for organically non GMO'd foods? Yeah that's why I have to go to work. And what about the fat looser with no social life other than his Panera Blog? wait, what am i doing...

Rainy days are tiring, but they actually make some things all the better. For example, warm music like Frequent Flyer seems all the more Brazillian, drinking coffee is twice as satisfying as it is on a normal day and having to be inside at work isn't so painful.

In one month and five days, i will be in Monterey CA at the Sea Otter Classic. I still havent realized yet that I'm going all the way to California to race my bicycle, but once I do, It's going to be really exciting. How many times, other than if you've got parents with loads of money laying around, do you get the chance to go to California with minimal expense to your wallet? None the less, my second trip by air should be fun. Gotta go punch the clock.
